Jonathan VanAntwerpen grew up next door to a small church at the corner of Avery Street and Beelzebub Road. The son of three parents—a teacher, a professor, and a preacher—Jonathan is an author, an editor, and a program director. Originally trained as a philosopher, he holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently director of the Religion and Theology Program at the Henry Luce Foundation in New York.
